September Weekend

Weekend plans are spending time with the family... which means speaking lots of German. I can't help but to be a little sad that summer is fading, cooler breezes are blowing in, days are getting shorter, and long sleeve shirts are being pulled back out. Am I the only one?

Wow... can't beleive it's September already!

  2. I was resisting until I caught a cold. That basically forced me to admit that fall has started! =) We've also started leaving the Brita pitcher on the counter again - meaning we don't always want icy cold water when it's already cool out. The door to the balcony isn't always open, and this morning I considered hot chocolate =) It's that time of the year for sure! Happy weekend!

  3. I, for one, am never sad to see summer heat go! We enjoy every moment of it, but eventually enough is enough. I do mourn the ending of fall, though.

  4. Hot Chocolate, surely its not cold enough for that yet :-) A sunny day here, but with a bit of a chill, never mind, we will just wrap up and go for a walk!!

  5. The thing is, in Hamburg, the summer really does end the last weekend in August. If it was a hot summer, which happens once every three or four years, then one might be ready for it. If it was a damp rainy summer, it can be tough to take the onset of fall after not even really having a summer. But, having said that, the golden Autumn along the Elbe is beautiful, and you can go down to the Alster River which is not too terribly far from you and enjoy walks on the weekend with your sweetheart. It can be so romantic :) Das Best draus machen, is what my friends in HH always told me! :) Nicki (above) sounds like she is an expert on this subject...!
