Now that Christmas is over I can actually show a couple of presents that went out to some loved ones this year... I just couldn't spoil any surprises ahead of time with showing things off here.
When my oldest niece saw the collection from Lizzy House, she immediately fell in love with the cute foxes and adorable hedgehogs. For my younger niece I knew that pink would be the color of choice, but I wanted to do something a little more grown-up for my oldest niece... those pre-teen years can very much be a revolt of all things pink, purple, and ultra feminine.
I thought that a bold contrast of rich purple and vibrant orange was grown up enough without over doing it. I really want to delve into this collection a little deeper, but I've got several things in the works that might keep those project ideas on the backburner for now.
So, how many of your Christmas presents were handmade? Did you make them or did someone make something handmade for you?
I think at first he missed a lot from Germany and felt so disconnected; however, now that it has been almost 19 years since he left Germany he considers the states home.
ReplyDeleteOops, didn't see the other comment. All the boys have duel citzenship and soon Addy will too. I am just waiting for her birth certificate to arrive. Here in Georgia you have to request it and pay a small fee. I hope it comes in the next week then I can apply for her U.S. passport and then her German. I will be the only one without both, but I don't qualify because I have never lived over there. I can't believe it is only 3 months until we leave. It looks like we will be living in Heidelburg which I think is a pretty nice city. The hills are going to kill me. I wish my hubby would pick a University where it is flat to work for the summer.
ReplyDeleteKelleyn, I guess for me it has only been five years now, and I am somewhere between being disconnected and being at home... I guess a few more years should do it.
ReplyDeleteOur little guy is the only one who has both. Even though I live here, I am not eligible for both, although I have a stamp in my passport as a legal resident. I guess I'm just not willing to give up my U.S. passport. I do love the fact that the little guy will have so much freedom when traveling.
Tja, can't imagine that lots of hills with four kids sounds like much fun, but hey, at least it a good workout without going to the gym ; )
