Summer Collections

It's been a goal of mine for quite some time to create things as a whole collection instead of individual random items here and there, which is quite difficult to do since I have a new favorite fabric just about everyday (are you that fair-weathered too?) Just because it is a goal doesn't mean I always stick to it... because like many creative people, I'm a little ADD, especially when it comes to staying with just ONE collection.

But now is the big push to get everything ready for our big show, and boy is my list full of things to do. This is the time of year that I'm a little absent in blogland... not because I'm not creating anything, oh no, trust me, the sewing machine is humming, but to keep you updated with a sea of photos is easier said then done. So... just to share one of the collections that I've been working with recently...

I love Erin McMorris fabrics... so fresh, fun, and just the right colors for spring and summer, don't you think?

  1. Good luck working through your list! I want to hear more about your show. Did you organize it? Do you have a stand in it?? So exciting!

  2. Julie, yes, this will actually the third year that we have had a stand at the Park & Garden show. It's a lot of work, but I really enjoy it. I cannot imagine organizing a show of this scale. I'm sure they have similar garden shows in your area too, oder? Do you attend any of them?

  4. Die Farben sind traumhaft, Allison! Ich finde, die richtigen Stoffe und Kombinationen auszuwählen dauert manchmal länger als das Nähen selbst. Ich denke im Moment auch darüber nach, mir meine eigene Kollektion zumachen.

  5. Oh wow, the show looks lovely, and your collection is stunning!!! I wish we had such an event in the Frankfurt area. We'll be visiting Hamburg during the school holidays but sadly it will be after the show. Good luck with crafting, I hope you have pleanty of time and inspration! Come back to tell us how you get on!

  6. Ohhh... Sina, that would be so much fun to do your own fabric collection! Have you tried Spoonflower yet? I have heard that there is something similar in Germany, but I don't know any details.

Sewandthecity, I'm sure there is a nice garden show somewhere near Frankfurt... I know that they are all over Germany. You might want to check in the back of a Land Lust magazine, they usually list local garden shows. Have fun in Hamburg... there's lots to see!
